Real Valladolid issued an official statement to condemn the racist insults Vinicius received during last Friday’s game in Zorrilla. The Spanish club published the statement, later shared by LaLiga ‘due to the isolated incidents that occurred in Zorrilla during the game between Real Valladolid and Real Madrid when Vinicius Jr. was replaced’, the statement read.
‘Real Valladolid absolutely condemns any form of racism and is very sorry for what happened’, the statement continued, adding that ‘the Club is, of course, willing to collaborate with LaLiga to carry out the pertinent investigations, and reserves its right to implement disciplinary measures in case there are subscribers involved in the incidents’.
Valladolid wants to make it clear that ‘there is no space for racism in football and society, so Real Valladolid is determined to implement more and more measures to raise awareness, avoid and combat any similar episode’, adding that ‘these isolated incidents do not represent the vast majority of ‘blanquivioletas’ fans, always respectful, who participated in a beautiful show in the stands of Zorrilla’.
