Standing at 2.15 meters (7’1”), Shaquille O’Neal has always faced challenges when it comes to everyday tasks—especially driving.
To address this, Effortless Motors oversaw the creation of a custom-made car tailored specifically for the NBA legend, featuring unique design adaptations.
A Corvette Made for Shaq
The vehicle is a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C8, fully customized to fit Shaquille O’Neal’s XXL frame while becoming a one-of-a-kind model worldwide.
Effortless Motors showcased the car on its official social media channels, where it also revealed some technical details.
To ensure O’Neal could drive comfortably, the company extended the wheelbase by approximately 50 centimeters. This modification required reworking key components, including the doors, fenders, and engine cover.
Other adjustments included widening the rear wheel arches to maintain design balance.
The car retains its original 5.5-liter V8 engine with 679 horsepower, though the structural changes may slightly affect its dynamic performance.
Signature Features and Challenges
As with the standard Corvette Z06 C8 coupe, the custom version features a removable roof, providing added comfort for O’Neal—or anyone of similar stature.
The project was not without complications. For instance, the windows had to be specially manufactured, and during production they developed cracks, delaying installation and creating a striking visual effect due to their unusual proportions.
In the end, the result is a powerful and imposing sports car that Shaquille O’Neal can finally enjoy behind the wheel.
