Xavi’s greatest accomplishments in his first year with FC Barcelona

Barça, leader of LaLiga, also rules in Europe with the average number of spectators in the stadiums. And it is that Camp Nou registers the highest attendance figures of the different leagues of the continent so far this season. With an average attendance of 83,194 in the seven home games played this season, the stadium exceeds the average 81,032 spectators at Signal Iduna Park (Borussia Dortmund) and the 75,007 at the Allianz Arena (Bayern Munich).
There are only three more clubs that exceed 70,000 viewers on average in Europe. Manchester United, who are close to 75,000 in their Premier League matches (74,184), Milan (72,656) and Inter (72,080), who share a stadium, San Siro for the 'rossoneri' and Giuseppe Meazza for the 'nerazzurri'. In LaLiga, the difference is even bigger since after Camp Nou, the stadiums with the greatest influx are the Santiago Bernabéu (57,552), whose capacity is limited to 62,900 spectators due to the works that are being completed, and the Metropolitan Civitas (54,507).
Two games with more than 90,000 spectators
Despite the fact that not even the other greats of LaLiga, Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid, have yet passed through the Camp Nou, and that the Champions League match against Bayern Munich was already played without options of going to the round of 16 for Xavi's men, in two games this season, 90,000 spectators have already been exceeded. And that in both, since the match against Celtic on October 9 in fact, a part of the third tier was already closed to the public due to the start of works at the stadium.
The first was the duel against Inter, where Xavi Hernández's team was at stake to continue with options in the Champions League (92,302 spectators), and the second against Almería, where Gerard Piqué's farewell encouraged many Catalans to go to the stadium ( 92,605 spectators), which registered the highest entry of the course that day. In contrast, the worst attendance was recorded against Villarreal (73,261 spectators), with the schedule (Thursday, October 20 at 9:00 p.m.) as a major determining factor.

Counting the League and the Champions League, attendance at Camp Nou in the ten games this season is almost identical between one competition and the other. In the maximum continental competition, it does not reach 1,500 more spectators (84,576), thus raising the total average of this course, the first since the beginning without any type of restrictions since the pandemic, at the stadium by 83,608 attendees.
