Real Madrid experienced a tense third day of training as preparations continued for the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Manchester City.
As anticipated, Kylian Mbappé was absent from the session after returning from a week of treatment in Paris and did not even step onto the training pitch.

The French forward is dealing with discomfort in his left knee and, following advice from the club’s medical staff, chose not to take any risks.
As a result, manager Álvaro Arbeloa will need to look for an alternative option in attack for the upcoming match against the English side.
Concerns also extend to the left back position. Álvaro Carreras has been ruled out of the encounter after suffering a knock to his calf, with the club confirming the injury through an official medical report.
His absence adds to an already lengthy list of unavailable players, including Éder Militão, David Alaba, Jude Bellingham, Dani Ceballos, and Rodrygo, all of whom continued their respective recovery processes during the session.
One positive note for Madrid could come in defense. Antonio Rüdiger, who finished the recent match against Celta Vigo with some discomfort, is expected to push through the issue in an effort to be available for the crucial Champions League fixture.
