The first board meeting of FC Barcelona following the elections held on March 15 took place this Thursday, with president Rafa Yuste chairing the session during the current cohabitation period.
This transitional phase will remain in place until president elect Joan Laporta officially takes office on July 1, as established by the club’s statutes.

Yuste was joined by vice president Josep Cubells, treasurer Alfons Castro, and board members Josep Ignasi Macià, Ángel Riudalbas, Joan Solé, and Sisco Pujol. One of the key points celebrated during the meeting was the club’s continued growth in membership, which has now reached 150,077 members.
This marks a significant increase from the 142,354 recorded on June 30, reflecting steady expansion in the club’s social base.
Among the other major topics discussed by Barça’s leadership was the ongoing work on the budget for the 2026–27 season, as well as the closing figures for the current 2025–26 campaign.
The club is projecting €1.075 billion in ordinary revenue, a record figure in its history. Qualification for the Champions League quarterfinals (an objective already included in the budget) has helped the club remain within the financial parameters approved at the Assembly held on October 19.
So far, Barcelona has already secured €100.34 million in prize money from UEFA based on its sporting performance.
Any additional earnings from reaching the semifinals or final would represent further profit within that revenue stream.
Within the framework of next season’s financial planning, the board also reviewed potential income opportunities during the preseason.
As previously reported, the club is not expected to embark on a tour of Asia or America following the Club World Cup, which concludes on July 19, due to uncertainty over squad availability.
However, efforts will be made to honor an agreement to play a friendly match in Peru, which would generate €8 million, along with other potential fixtures across Europe.
These could include a training camp in Germany or the United Kingdom. In addition, there is also an offer on the table to play a friendly in Naples.
The situation of the club’s different sporting sections and the current status of ongoing sponsorship negotiations were also included on the meeting’s agenda.
