Hansi Flick faces several key decisions today, although injuries have, unfortunately, made parts of his lineup selection more straightforward ahead of Barcelona’s clash with Atlético Madrid.
With Raphinha, Marc Bernal, and Frenkie de Jong all unavailable, the German coach has fewer options to rotate his regular starters.
The main uncertainties lie at right back, in the holding midfield role, and at center forward.

Joan Garcia is set to start in goal without question. On the right side of defense, Ronald Araújo’s knock against Atlético opens the door for Jules Koundé, while the rest of the back line is expected to mirror the one used at the Metropolitano, with Pau Cubarsí and Gerard Martín at center back and João Cancelo on the left.
In midfield, Bernal’s ankle sprain is likely to cement Eric Garcia as the holding midfielder, partnering the indispensable Pedri in a double pivot. Pedri’s workload is being carefully monitored due to muscle concerns. Ahead of them, the attacking trio is expected to feature Lamine Yamal, Fermín, and Marcus Rashford, who recently found the net in league play.
Up front, Flick’s biggest decision centers on the striker position. Dani Olmo could get the nod after his strong performance against Atlético, and Flick tested this setup in training on Tuesday.
That said, both Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres are available, and the Polish striker has been a regular feature in the Champions League. The final call will be revealed shortly before kickoff.
