FC Barcelona’s global appeal continues to rise, and the clearest sign is the growing number of lucrative offers the club is receiving to play friendlies around the world. The latest proposal, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, would see the Catalan side travel to South Korea for a one off match that could earn between €9 million and €10 million.
The offer, however, comes with logistical challenges. It would require a long trip for a single game, particularly in a summer when Barcelona are not planning an Asian tour. Instead, the club is expected to hold a training camp at St George’s Park, the English Football Association’s facility near Birmingham.
Barcelona are also considering several other high value opportunities. A firm offer from Peru is already on the table and could be finalized at any time, with potential earnings between €7 million and €8 million. There is also a less advanced proposal to play in Morocco, which would bring in around €5 million.
In addition, the club has received an invitation to face Napoli on August 1 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. This option is viewed favorably due to the strength of the Italian side, offering Hansi Flick’s team a demanding test just weeks before the start of the LaLiga season.
In a similar context, Mundo Deportivo previously reported that Barcelona turned down a proposal last October to play a friendly in Libya, a match that could have generated around €5 million. The club ultimately declined due to security concerns. Atlético de Madrid, however, received a similar offer to play in the North African country and chose to accept it.
