Eduardo Camavinga is widely regarded as one of the most outgoing personalities in the Real Madrid locker room. His close bond with Vinicius Jr. and the rest of the squad is evident in every public appearance, and that openness has occasionally led him to reveal a few inside details about life within the team.
He did so in an interview with ESPN during France’s training camp in the United States, where he spoke about how players are treated by Álvaro Arbeloa.
“Arbeloa has the same spirit as Ancelotti. He gives us a lot of freedom and talks with the players,” Camavinga explained. “Sometimes he even brings gifts after training… donuts, Oreo cookies…” he added. He then shared what is becoming something of a mantra inside Real Madrid: “With players like this, you just have to keep them happy. When you’re happy, your feet do what they want.”
On a personal level, Camavinga also made it clear that he is aiming for a bigger role within the team rather than remaining a secondary figure. “When the team is in a good place mentally, everything is easier on the field, and I want to be more consistent and play more.”
Finally, he spoke about his friend Vinicius Jr., highlighting his humility and how welcoming he is toward new arrivals. “He always helps young players. When someone new comes in, he’s the first to reach out.” Camavinga also defended him amid criticism over his on-field behavior. “In Europe they don’t understand it. In Brazil or the United States, it’s normal. It’s football, it’s a game,” he concluded.
